Events by the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency on culture-arts, cultural heritage, urban implementations and urban culture keep on embracing Istanbul residents.

Carried out by Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency’s Visual Arts Directorate, this project has so far invited 6 prominent persons of their domains: Remo Salvadori (Italya), Sophie Calle (France), Victor Burgin (UK), Peter Kogler (Austria), Danae Stratou (Greece), Antoni Muntadas (Spain-USA) to Istanbul for making artistic productions and holding workshops.

Theatre in Schools! Playwriting Competition
Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency’s Education Directorate aims to promote and carry out educational projects carried out school / university students and teachers.Taking into consideration the fact that there are not enough number of theatre plays available for children to act. In order to overcome this obstacle, Education Directorate is realizing a "Theatre in Schools! Playwriting Competition" in an effort to establish a book of theatre text including translations of foreign plays as well. Deadline for applications to the competition is 15 October.
