Over the last few years, town and territory 3D modelling solutions and methods based on geographic data have increasingly been used in urban design, management and regional development. They offer developers the prospect of reliable and precise 3D visualisations and spatial simulations as well as help in decision-making and communication. Yet they often give rise to complex questions regarding the acquisition, storage and management of geographic data for use in 3D work.
To recognize and reward the very best use of 3D modelling, simulation and visualisation in a particular sector, be it artistic, industrial or engineering-related, awards will be conferred at the Imagina Conference on Urbanism & Landscape taking place on 1–3 February 2011 in Monaco.
To compete for the Imagina Awards 2011, presentations should be submitted on 3D experience in the following areas:
- 3D experience in planning, managing and promoting a city or territory
- adoption of a "geo-referenced" 3D model in the context of project studies
- experience of 3D applied to the preservation of landscape and natural areas
Registration deadline: 15 October 2010
