In November 2009, El Ejido, Almería (Andalucia-Spain), within the framework of the International Congress of Cultural Management organized by the Spanish Federation of Associations of Cultural Managers (FEAGC), and inspired by an international process launched by managers and cultural animators of Santiago de Chile, the FEAGC has laid the foundations for a project called: European and World Organization of Cultural Management - (CMG-EU) and (CMG-WO).
Read their concept and call and consider signing their declaration of commitment! You find all documents and contacts bellow.
"Dear professionals of Culture,
In a world where politics and economy are positioning strategically in the process of globalization, it is indispensable for the professionals of the Cultural Sector to express consumption and organization, so that it might influence the extension of its possibilities in solving challenges in which we are immersed in this 21st century, which will be decisive for the health of the planet and the Human ecosystem.
The profession of Culture is called to articulate a movement leading to the creation of
the GEC-UE /CM-EU and to the OM-GEC / WO-CMG. Therefore, it needs to boost all associations, networks and professional’s institutions of the Third Sector specially, with the purpose of engaging in a process culminating in 2012 with the holding of a European Congress of Cultural Management and a World Congress of Cultural Management and the preparation of the World Charter for Cultural Management and Cultural Rights.
On the definition of "culture" established in Mondiacult (Mexico, 1982), diversity, interculturality, employment, creativity, innovation and Cultural Industries, we must take the initiative and provide a set of proposals that will lead to put Cultural Sector and entrepreneurship facing this horizon of exchange, assuming the new century and the new millennium with conviction, generosity and strategic sense. It is therefore essential to work from what we have called the triple alliance of culture: between public and professional authorities of culture, between public, private and the third sector and between creators and cultural managers.
We ask that if you are in agreement, sign the attached declaration of commitment on behalf of your organisation (as third sector specially) or that you resend it to networks and associations of your scope.
Please, sum to this open process and contribute to its dissemination and implementation. You can send your membership with signature digitized on the document that is enclosed specifying the Organization to which you represent.
Thank you, colleagues!"
