Call for projects - Conference “Chances for Cultural and Citizenship Education in the Context of the Development of Cities and Urban Spaces”

The NECE - Networking European Citizenship Education - initiative promoted by the Federal Agency for Civic Education/ bpb (Germany) is calling for projects to be presented at this year´s NECE conference on “Chances for Cultural and Citizenship Education in the Context of the Development of Cities and Urban Spaces” from 29 September until 1 October 2010 in Trieste (Italy).

At the conference, scientists and practitioners will start a dialogue on current challenges for the urban space and on the latter´s possibilities of cultural and citizenship education. The exchange between science and practical work will happen at the workshops where innovative models, projects and concepts, which have proven their worth shall be presented if they are concretely related to the city/ the urban space and its challenges and if they point out to opportunities/ possibilities for cultural and citizenship education in the context of urban development/ urban space.

The organisers will invite representatives of outstanding projects of cultural or citizenship education to the conference at Trieste, to present their projects at one of the topical workshops. Travel and accommodation costs will be paid for one person per project/ organisation.

The call´s closing date is 18 June 2010.
