Autumn has come, city is vibrant …
MaviKum is also living season’s thrill …
We are entering this season with a fascinating ceramic exhibition …

Ceramic exhibition of “Tree of Life” by Kadriye Ezel Ağaoğlu will be opening on September 12, 2009, Saturday at 19:00; as a parallel activity to 11th International İstanbul Biennial.

Meanwhile, several surprises will be awaiting our guests at the party celebrating our 5th anniversary…

“Soil fired in Kadriye Ezel Ağaoğlu’s dough is beyond the contemporary ceramic. The reflections from her works of art are plane human stories told in authentic iconography. In the common grounds of all languages, “human” wearing nothing else; is the story of faces upon us in the enthusiasm of daily life.”

KADRİYE EZEL AĞAOĞLU

The artist was born in İstanbul, completed her primary and secondary education in Anatolia. In 1973, she graduated from the İstanbul Applied Fine Arts Academy, Department of Structure-Garden-Sculpture. Later, she founded her own ceramic studio. Between 1980 and 1989, she continued her works in Switzerland. Tutored ceramics. Ağaoğlu opened individual exhibitions in Switzerland and Germany. In the meantime, she participated to the mixed exhibitions. At the end of 1989, came back to Turkey. Since then, she has been continuing her works in her studio at Mecidiyeköy.
