After focusing on regions such as Asia, Africa and Amercia for diversification of the organisation, Res Artis has chosen to redirect the focus to Europe and especially Central and Eastern Europe. Res Artis aims to further dialogue on how to build a sustainable civil society in Europe across national borders.

The main theme of the conference will gather around the Horizon. Thinking of Hungary, we are reminded of one of its symbols, the national heritage of the country, the Hortobágy, The Great Plains with its unending horizon. Artists visiting residencies are also broadening their artistic horizon by travelling and experiencing other places, people and cultures.

The topics discussed at the conference will all gather around Horizon, as a scale of unending possibilities and versions of possible AIRs. The lectures and workshops will talk about the horizon of different models of residency centres, horizon of different fields of art, the geographical horizon and horizon of artists’ mobility.
