Arvind Lodaya, Senior Faculty and Dean, Research at Sristhi School of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore, India, is a visiting professor in Region Västra Götaland during May and June 2010. Arvind Lodaya has many years of experience working as a Senior Faculty and Dean, as well as with his own art. He has worked in developing Sristhi School of Art, Design and Technology, the pedagogical ideas and in close cooperation with students. Arvind Lodaya will have a residence work space at Nätverkstan in Göteborg, Sweden, and will work with a
project looking into cultural innovation and where this happen.
On behalf of this, together with Arvind Lodaya, School of Design and Crafts University of Gothenburg, Nätverkstan, Region Västra Götaland and European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres (Encatc), would like to invite you to a series of explorative seminars where these topics are discussed and where we together go deeper into the topic of cultural innovation. The seminars can be seen as a series and a way to go deeper each time, or as two separate events.
Where is the driving force for (cultural) change in society? How does cultural innovation happen? How is this relevant for cultural and educational institutions? How
can they constructively and creatively respond to this? What should be the key determinants of a city/region/state’s cultural
policy? How can it combine the imperative of a harmonious, vibrant, creative and productive society along with supporting (marginal) subgroups to assert and determine their own identity and culture?
