The non-profit-making organization Culture and Democracy is organizing a cycle of two conferences on "Culture at the Heart of Contemporary Challenges. The Question of Teaching" on 11 March 2010 and Thursday 18 March 2010 at the Palais des Académies, Brussels, Belgium.
The problems of transmission and relationship to knowledge, making the teacher into a "passer" of culture, will be at the heart of the debates. Political officials responsible for education and culture, pedagogical officials, directors, inspectors, all teaching personnel, trainers, researchers into the science of education, and cultural actors, will be attending these conferences.
This cycle prolongs the colloquy organized in November 2008, entitled "Culture in the Heart of Teaching: A Real Democratic Challenge", the report of which is available through Culture and Democracy.
