Övül Avkıran ve Mustafa Avkıran’ın tasarladığı, Kemal Gökhan Gürses’in yazdığı, çizdiği ve seslendirdiği Histanbul yeni yüzüyle yeniden garajistanbul’da. Memet Ali Alabora’nın oynadığı, zemin etüdleri yapan mühendis Ali Bora’nın bir sokak arasında karşılaştığı kadının İstanbul mu, yoksa bir tahayyül mü olduğunu anlaması için yedi tepeyi dolaşması gerekiyor. Sibel Tüzün’ün İstanbul için yazılmış şarkıları yeniden yorumladığı ve İstanbul’u oynadığı Histanbul, bizi yok olmayı bekleyen bir şehrin müzikal yolculuğuna çıkarıyor. 2008 yılının en çok konuşulan oyunlarından olan bu gösteride şarkılar, şiirler hep İstanbul için söylenmiş ama, acaba hangi İstanbul için?

After having said its first “hello” in three cities in the Netherlands, Istanbul has returned to its own geography, this time, to confront itself… To tell the truth, being called by the names of its new hills, being described in contemporary and at times quite popular songs and basking in the admiration expressed by magnificent poems written in for it and it alone, had put into motion something inside the city.
Being reunited with the appetisers it had missed so much, perhaps it had done Istanbul good… It looked at the hills known by their new names and smiled cynically.
Istanbul liked the girl who described the city and whose eyes shone when she smiled, in spite of all the crudeness and roughness that surrounded her… Istanbul didn’t even resent the fact that the clumsy but kind-hearted man who was infatuated with her got a little confused towards the end. It actually enjoyed being adored by a scientist. Watching the love between the two young people on stage, the tired old heart of the ancient city of Istanbul felt a little rejuvenated, but it also lamented the fiery days of its youth… It was a bit hurt to see the public laugh from time to time, but it also saw that confronting its troubles actually brought to it a sense of reality that it had missed so much. Furtively it shed some tears, but mainly it just laughed at the human nature of its new inhabitants…
